AVON, MA. July 8, 2009. Dave Glancy, Manager at Glancy Crane and Rigging in Avon, MA received the Patriot Award and signed a statement of Support. Mr. Glancy was nominated by Sergeant (SGT) Jason Newcomb, Massachusetts Army National Guard. SGT Newcomb wrote, "Mr. Glancy very much understands with regards to time needed for military training, especially on short notice. Mr. Glancy and the company set up a 'Care package program' for SGT Newcomb and his unit."

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier." On hand representing MAESGR was Eastern Area Chair, John Pelose.
